I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who posted their opinions for those of us looking to purchase a snowblower.  I did a lot of research before I purchased a new unit this year and found this site the most informative.   I decided on the 8 hp Ariens.  I was looking at the 6 hp and 8 hp and decided on the larger unit because of reading that more horsepower is always the best.  I live in Northeast Ohio and got hit with a variety of snow conditions over the past couple of weeks.  The best was this past weekends storm that gave us 14" with heavy blowing and drifting.  My new blower was by far a pleasure to use and in my eyes, a snow eating beast that took everything I could give it.   I looked forward to going out and having the neighbors watch in envy, ha ha....  Thanks again to all who post as it helped me make the right choice....
