Hi, I have a simplicity 1960 sno-away 6hp 26" snow thrower, which worked like a charm until recently I hit the curb with the rotor and one of the blade is out of shape now ( the welded parts came off and doesn't rotate). I am wondering if anyone can refer me to a parts store etc who sells part for old blowers or if it is recommended that I get it welded back and see if it will work? You might be hard pressed to find parts for a 48 year old snow thrower.  Hell, the guys that built it are probably dead now....That's a piece of history you're working with there.  I suggest you take it to a welder and have them take a look at it.  Not to be rude or anything but maybe a newer machine is in order.    That has to be a record for longevity. 

could it be just a shear pin?
