hi again,i am also working on a jacobsen,when you put it in gear it don't move,we have had a really bad snap of cold weather.his auger was froze up pretty good.could the plate the friction disc rides on be froze up also?and if that is not it.how do you go about setting the friction disc?Thanks,don

 flip it on its blower housing and remover the bottom inspection plate.  once inside take a better look at whats going on inside. as far as the plate you speak of   probably not  .  if you remov e the belt cover you will see the two belts coming of the crankshaft.  the firthest one out runs the impellar/augers,   the belt closest to engine runs the drive disc.  whick inturn when engages against driven disc supplies the wheel power.   rubber disc could be worn down,
