Impressively munched on by a Honda track, either a 9 or 11hp, on which the proud operator has performed zero maintenance in 12 or so years. Yep, never even an oil change.
The blower is owned by a local MA parish and operated by Fred who does maintenance on the cemetery beside my house. There's about a 1000 foot hill with a very steep slippery road running straight up it Fred sometimes uses the blower as the road gets too slippery for the plough.
I bring over my blowers to compare just how they do against the Honda and they don't come close. Toro 824XL and Snapper 8265 Heavy Duty can't keep up the to awesome Honda in just about all conditions. It can go at least twice as fast and throw about 10 feet further. About the only place they can beat the Honda is in a nasty pile. The Honda lifts sooner in tough going. A very old Toro 724 beats the Honda there also.
Fred and I had just finished talking when after just starting out the Honda ate the marker post and did a handsome job on it. One spot on the post had a knot so was a fairly easy break but the others are all in clear wood (one piece is missing). Given how small they were it was impressive. It never sheared a pin but did stall out. He started it right up and continued to finish the hill but told me later there was a squeaking noise someplace.
People get newspapers often and a few weeks ago my neighbor's augers locked up on the Sunday paper. Did a good job too. Then next week he had a new snowblower.
So, what has your snowblower eaten? Can your snowblower savage a post as nicely as the Honda?
