Getting the impeller off the auger drive shaft

After a great deal of struggling I finally have two auger drive assemblies on the bench.

One has a broken thrust bearing and worn bushing and a good impeller.

The other has good auger components but a very rusted impeller.

To repair the one with broken components the impeller needs to be gotten off. I’d like to use the auger assembly with the rusted impeller so the impeller has to come off that one also.

The auger drive end support bearing was so rusted to its shaft on one I had to rent a puller. No amount of heating and banging would work.

These rigs are 1995 and 1996. One is very rusted out and given how hard it was to get the bearing which was 1 inch the prospects of getting the 5 or 6 inch impeller off seems impossible. How do people do that? There’s only a tiny lip on the impeller to bang on. I do have the two roll pins removed. I’m not positive but there seems to be some white stuff between the drive arm and the impeller. Do those things get loctited together?

trouts<BR><BR>l've had some pretty tight ones, l took mine to a local shop to have it pressed off and they had to heat it alot. they told me it took 35 ton to get it to move with it glowing red. small engine shop told me alot of them need to be drilled out on a lathe, l dont buy that seems a little extream to me anyway, l tried to use a puller and heat on mine to but with no sucsess your gonna need a good press and heat. good luck

Amazing, I got lucky and there're both off.

The not so rusted impeller had drips of WD-40 on it all of yesterday and overnight. After repeated banging with a very long punch against the end lip yesterday and this morning nothing moved on either shaft.
This morning out of desperation I bought some BP Blaster on the advice of a person who works on these things quite a bit. He said he swears by it. <BR> It was put on both shafts and as a test put on a 1 ½ inch strip in a throwing blade of the very rusted impeller. WD-40 was put on a similar size section of another blade on the same impeller. Over time the PB Blaster creped along the whole blade. WD-40 did not advance much at all. I gave the wd-40 an extra squirt but it still did not advance past where it had crep to.
I juiced the augers several more times over a few hours and after repeated beating with a hammer and punch the not very rusted impeller finally broke and came off.<BR> The other one also broke but after an hour more of soaking and much more banging with the punch and the back of a fairly heavy hand ax.
I'm not sure if it was due to the PB Blaster or just the steady banging. Exactly what's in these products is a mystery. It made me look around the net but I could not find any ingredients listed for BP Blaster.

Wiki did list some for WD-40 which were interesting:

50%: Stoddard solvent (mineral spirits, somewhat similar to, but not the same as, kerosene)
25%: Liquefied petroleum gas (presumably as a propellant, carbon dioxide is used now to reduce considerable flammability)
15%: Mineral oil (light lubricating oil)
10%: Inert ingredients

Is the secret sauce for WD-40 kero?
