Do the following one step at a time until it runs right.

Check to ensure your choke is disengaging after engine start up.  Loosen your gas tank filler cap to allow air to get into the fuel tank.  If the machine keeps running, tighten the cap down to see if it stops running after a few minutes.  If it stops, your filler cap air inlet is blocked.  You'll have to either fix the cap or get a new one.   Check your fuel system.  Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel tank to the carb and drain the fuel into a clear container.   Look for debris and water.  If you see any, flush and clean fuel tank as necessary.  Pull the fuel bowl on your carb and look for water/ice/debris.  Clean and re-assemble.   Give it a test run.  If it still doesn't stay running, you will have to do a more complete carb cleaning.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.
