Snow Blower light install.
Original Message   Jan 14, 2008 1:08 pm
I just acquired an older model craftsman snow blower . It has a 8hp tecumseh 25 inch clear and the trac drive.  It would be nice to install a light to it.  I checked  for any extra power leads.  None found. It is 80 h series motor. I checked a online service manual but I cannot determine if it has any extra power generation. I does have the 110v electric start.  Any thoughts?

Thanks

I recall the previous owner saying there was a light kit available.  I know there is some wiring under the shroud were the throttle is located.  When you drop the throttle down it shuts off the engine.  I was going to place a meter on it and see if there is power there. I will check under the shroud where the starter is to see if thereis a cable hiding there.

Thanks

The wire that shut the engine off is just a circuit to interrupt the electricity for your ignition.
