Craftsman Auger Drive Belt
Original Message   Dec 26, 2007 8:47 pm
It seems my auger drive belt is too loose to handle this recent wet snow.

I tried to tighten the belt by adjusting the idler pulley, but I found out the pulley was already at the "tightest" setting.

Do I need to use a smaller belt than OEM suggestion?

The belt doesn't appear to be damaged, but I did notice fragments of belt wear in the housing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

The belt is stretched and worn.

You're better off to replace the belt.  Same size as OEM.
