When the machine is off, the augers turn easily by hand. With the machine on and the augers engaged the augers turn slowly with no power. They stop as soon as they come up against any resistance (like snow!) The impeller seems to be working fine and throws whatever snow reaches it. I have changed both shear pins. One was sheared at both ends and I had to drive the broken pin out. I greased the shaft and added gear oil to the gear box. I removed the belt cowling and readjusted the attachment clutch even though it seemed fine. There's still no drive in the augers. What's the next stop? The shop?

Hi Guys! I'm afraid you may have a stripped worm gear/main gear. Was there a lot of glitter/metal fillings in the oil that drained from the gear case? Marc
