Question about using fuel additive Stabil
Original Message   Dec 14, 2007 5:14 am
Used the fuel additive Stabil in my 70's Ariens over the summer and it started on the first pull after I remembered to reconnect the spark plug.  Seems to always start and run a lot better with it.   Lawnmower seems to do better with it as well.

Since it seems to be a good thing for the engines, would exceeding the measured amount called for in the instructions be beneficial?

Not likely.  Using more than specified would be a waste of the product.  By the way, have you ever heard of Seafoam?  It's not only a fuel stabilizer, it also does wonders for cleaning carbs and carbon from engines.  I use it religiously.  It's particularly good for cleaning two stroke engines.  If you decide to try Seafoam, it's available at NAPA outlets.

the label states that if u double it it will last 2yrs. do not know if that would affect the engine in any way.
