I just have to ask.  Your quote " Fly high in "Thuds", I did!", is this a Yoda-esque reference to  flying Thunder Chiefs in South East Asia?  Were you a Thunder Chief pilot? 

Well sir, my hat is off to you.  I've read that crews on Wild Weasel  missions were first in, last out.  Very brave souls you and your fellow pilots were.  I'm honoured to have had the opportunity just to correspond with a Thunder Chief pilot. 

 I watched a documentary the other night about the Thunder Chief and F4 pilots who deeked the NV Air force in to a mêlée that resulted in the biggest single ariel confrontation of the war.  It was primarily about Robin Olds and his crew.
