Original Message   Nov 11, 2007 2:54 pm
Could anyone tell me what the tire size is for a 1980 Toro 824 snowblower. My tires are slitting and i would like to buy new ones.

ok i looked on the side of the tire and it shows the size as being 13 x 4.00-6

I am assuming that means the overal diameter of the tire is 13" the widrth is 4" and the rim size is 6" is this correct?

Why not just take a wheel with you to your local Canadian Tire/ Pep Boys or any other inexpensive store that sells tires?  They'll make sure you get the right tire&tube as well as put them on for you.

Do a Google search  for:    Cedar Rapids Tire Co.

They have a tire sizing capability and good prices!!

Hope this helps!!

I tried the cedar rapids site but they don't have a big selection and they don't have my size. As far as CDN tire i am not sure that they sell snowblower tires

those numbers mean   a 13" diameter, not circumference.  4" is the width of rim,  6" is diameter of rim.   you can later the 13 but the rest have to stay the same.  the second headache is trying to remove the wheels from the axle.  in some case here in the shop we have to actually cut the axle,  then of course replace.

So I can not put a 5" wide tire on a rim made for 4" tires?
