I can get this beast to run but it runs rough,  the choke needs to be 1/2 on to stay running.  It will stay running for awhile. I do not have a manual to reference to go into carb adjustments as it has been messed with before.  I've cleaned the bowl and sprayed it all up but do not know original settings.  Any suggestions?

Look at the engine and find the ID plate. It will tell you the manufacturer, model and serial numbers. Go to the manufacturer's website and see if they have a manual for download or order.

If gas was left in it for a long time then more than the bowl on the carburetor will need cleaning. You might have to take it apart, soak it and then reassemble. It could even require a rebuild kit. The other thing to do is put in a new spark plug that has the proper gap set. Fresh gas is also required.
