Selling Ariens 7524, Replace with Toro or Ariens Single Stage
Original Message   Sep 12, 2007 11:45 am
I know this is sacrilege around here, but after two winters, I'm really disappointed in my Ariens 7524. For the snow/slush/ice we get here in the Philly area, I think I'll be much better off with a big single stage.

I posted here two years ago when I was shopping, and you guys helped me settle on the 7524. Hopefully you can help me choose between the Toro SnowCommander (or smaller GTS models) and the Ariens 722EC. I've owned a little Toro CCR Powerlite for 8 years and it's been great. I still use it for the stepped walk and landings where the >100lb 7524 can't go.

Specifically, does the single stage technology extend well to 22-24" width? And between the Toro and Ariens, what are the pros and cons?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Also, any idea what I should ask on Craigslist for the 7524? Less than 15 hours of total use. Cost ~$800 new. :(

Mt son has a 2450 Toro GTS single stage, works great for him!!

He lives in Wilmington, Delaware, pretty close to you.

Just mt 2 cents worth!
