Hi and welcome, I use Motomaster SAE 75w-90 gear oil extreme pressure synthetic blend for cold weather, it's perfect never add probem with it. I use it in my ariens snowblower gearcase, and some winter machinery at the farm. For grease like the auger, you can easily use white lithium grease (extreme temp) but general prupose will do the job (less expensive) but I still prefered the lithium white. Denis
