Ariens-Differential vs Remote Axle Lock
Original Message   Dec 12, 2006 1:02 pm
I have been lusting after the differential version  ( a.k.a. "DLE") of the Ariens blower for some time now. Along comes the remote axle lock on the "LE" versions and I am now having a tough time justifying the extra expense for the differential. As far as I can see the blowers are identically made except for the traction control system.

Has anyone had experience with both machines? what if anything are the OPERATIONAL or CONSTRUCTION differences.

I clear anywhere from 20-30 relatively small driveways, agility, turning and ease of manhandling are the main things I am looking for. I was just about set on the 926DLE but the 11528LE is looking very good.

The ideal solution would be to have both and do "head to head" testing -- Anyone in Ariens QA looking for a volunteer? My rates are reasonable

Hi Nibbler. If.....

agility, turning and ease of manhandling are the main things I am looking for.

Then I would recomend the DLE. I have a 926 DLE from last year. Very easy to move around, good power and EASY to turn under power at EOD.

The diferential is something that once you have it, you won't want a blower without it.

To lock the drive wheels requires holding a similar lever to that on the 11hp le model. The DLE requires that the lever remain depressed to lock the wheels.

The le models are click and release.

Hello Snowmann.

I would  think  the "clicker " type setup on a DLE could be a good thing.
