Ariens 932 ST2+2 (1987) Should I replace?
Original Message   Dec 3, 2006 9:49 am
I've got a Ariens 932 ST2+2 snowblower from 1987. It has ran poorly the last 2 winters, where it either won't start or it won't run consistently. I figured it was a carb problem, which I completely cleaned last winter, and I got spotty performance after that. I'm guessing the carb needs to be rebuilt?? I'm wondering if I should just by a new unit. Any thoughts? Does anyone have experience with this model, should I stick with it?? Thanks!

I should think it would be less expensive to replace or rebuild the carburator than to buy a new machine if the machine is big enough to do the the job. Have you been preparing the blower for storage as per the manual or using a gas stabilizer? If not, this could be the problem with the carb.

When running the blower does a decent job. I have used Stabil, so I don't think bad gas was the issue. I'm no carb expert, but take it apart and clean it. I probably need to have a pro take a look at it.

Hi,

Have you replaced the spark plug recently ??

Old sparkplugs  will cause  poor engine performance.

I would check to see if you have the right spark plug.you never know if some time back it was changed and the wrong one was put in.
