tecumseh carburetor
Original Message   Nov 14, 2006 4:18 pm
Help! I need a new carburetor for my old Snowbird, self-propelled,  snow blower. The old one has oxidized beyond use.  The model number on the engine is model H50-651166, the serial number is 7233 10220.  What part number would I use.  The only thing I have found is Tecumseh #631067A but I can't find any using this number. Are there alternatives to using this particular carb?

Thanks Steve O

Steve.
Yes, the horsepower is in the model number  (H50 = 5 horsepower.)
Tecumseh only uses 5 numerals in thier model numbers followed by a letter. (H50-65116G)
My guess would be that you are miss-reading the last digit as a "6" instead of a "G".
There is also a mfg. number stamped on the carb. A tecumseh dealer can use that number too find the right carb for that engine.
And....sure....you can use another carb, if you dont mind dicking around searching for one and then adapting it too your particular engine.
