10% Ethanol in Gasoline (E10) Causing Problems in Boat Fiberglass Fuel Tanks
Original Message   Jul 31, 2006 5:17 pm
Ethanol is a solvent that dissolves resin and deposits that have built up in a fuel tank, according to recent news reports.  Boat owners are currently having problems and are replacing their fiberglass tanks.

Many lawnmower and snowthrower gas tanks are made of plastic - - - - correct??  Resin is in fiberglass.  Is resin in plastic??  Is anyone out there familiar with this subject and the potential problems related to ethanol?  I haven't had a problem with my portable plastic gas tank and Poulon (Sears) lawnmower. . . . yet.
