Tecumseh H70 - help with points
Original Message   Jul 18, 2006 11:23 am
Tec h70 with no spark..it has points.... so I pull the flywheel, clean the points, re install everything gap at 0.020... when I check the points with a continuity testor, open or closed, I am getting continuity. when I unplug the magneto from the points, they work like they should, no contiuity when open & continuity when closed. The magneto is grounding out somwhere...Just wanted to double check that I am correct in assuming that when the points open, the magneto should not be grounded and there should not be any continuity across the points. The points are what gounds the magneto, right??
