I have a Mantis that I bought used from Home Depot's rental department about 3 years ago and it was working great until last fall when it would stop after running for a while and then not start again until I left it for an hour or two. Since it was the end of the season I just drained the tank, ran it dry and put it away.
I had a look at it last week and the same problem occurred so I decided to do the near to unthinkable, read the manual. Only problm was I didn't have one. So I went to the Mantis web site
here and searched around. No luck , they didn't have any user manuals for download. They did have an 800 number so I called and talked with a nuce person in the customer service area. She asked for the Model number and after I got that I was directed to another website,
here. In the navigation bar on the left is a "Owner's Manuals" button. If you go in there there is a list of manuals. At that point the Mantis person told me the manual's part number since they have a chart that tells them which model goes with which manual. After thaning her profusely I suggested that the cart be put on the web site and perhaps have it put on the Mantis site as well. The same web site has manuals for Little Wonder, Mantis and Classen.
After all of the above it turns out you are supposed to change the air filter every year. Once I had the parts I also put in a new spark plug. The thing started up, ran fine and tilled my clay encrusted "garden"..
The directions were clear and simple, I have a couple of other suggested maintenance items to do but all in all I'm impressed. Maybe I'll try reading some of the other manuals too
