Doing something wrong? Ariens 8524

this is the second full winter (E. Mass) using this snowblower. For the second time, during one of the only real snowstorms of the year I have had the exact same problem: There is a tenson spring for the drive mechanism is sheared. I've read a couple of posts here and there about this problem. I bought the snowblower because I didn't want to shovel. This is the second time I've had to shovel more than half the driveway. The auger continues to operate with no problem--just no forward or reverse drive. Is it possible that there is some kind of adjustment I need to make to keep the spring from shearing every year? Thanks for any info. Steve

Steve-Something is out of adjustment or there is a burr where the spring attaches to the frame. Call the dealer who replaced it last year and tell him it's not fixed! If he tells you it's out of warranty contact Ariens. Marc
