GOOFY KEY UPDATE
Original Message   Jan 6, 2006 5:50 pm
HM100 TECUM  If I remove the cowling that contains the opening for the key , and put the throttle lever in the high position, shouldnt I get a spark? I have a BS that appears to be wired in the same (re. the key) and when I removed the cowling it started fine. No key required. Is the cowling required on the HM100 in order to get a spark? ( possably a grounding mechenism? How about if I slip an insulator between the key wire and the carbon block , reinstall the cowling, and turn her over? should'nt I get a spark then?  I never had this engine fired up before, I'm wondering if I've  got a bigger problem then I'm assuming with the spark. If it's not the goofy key  Where do I start to look? Thanks richb
