need auger for ST1236
Original Message   Dec 9, 2005 7:39 am
I have a mostly complete Ariens ST1236. I need the entire buckt assy, its contents and the chute. Basically the whole, bolt on front end. Anyone have anyting that would bolt up with some medium duty modifications? I live just south of Boston.

Thanks
Mike

I may have found one in rehobeth, I'll know better tomorrow. I basically will take anyting that is 24" or larger and has a pulley drive. My engine has the double pulley design where one belt drives the trans and the other drives the auger. The auger that belonged to this machine had a 9" pulley on a 1" shaft. I have an auger from a real old machine (524 series) that has a 7/8 shaft. If anyone knows part numbers for a hub and pulley that will take a 7/8 keyed shaft then I could go that route too. If you know of any shops that keep a bone-yard out back, please let me know. I dont have the serial number but it is a 924 series. Are you saying that almost any 924 series auger will probably fit?

found one! Looks like the st824 will bolt right up with no mods. Im worried that the auger pulley might be slightly larger than the stock one. This is a 24" bucket and the original auger was a 36". Will a 1" larger difference in the auger pulley make a difference. I am just planning on getting a longer belt. Opinions?
