Hi I was wondering if someone could give me some advice regarding a Toro CR 20 Snowthrower. I have the opportunity to buy one in Toronto. The electric start plastic gear is broken but cranks okay with pull start. It has a 2.5hp engine. Any advice or things that I need to check? Is the plastic gear easy to change? I've been told it will cost $20 for the part. Its 10yrs old and asking $100 CDN obo. How deep can this thing throw snow? Your opinions/advice is appreciated. Thanks GD

One more point - I get mine through about 4-6 inches of wet snow (I live between London and Windsor; I mean WET snow) or about 8 inches of dry. Other than having to knock down a pile if I blow it too deep, I haven't had any significant horsepower problems with mine.
