what changed on the 926DLE?
Original Message   Dec 6, 2005 8:11 pm
i ordered an Ariens 926DLE about 4 weeks ago, and it arrived today - beautiful machine, and surprisingly easy to move around in tight spaces (fits into and out of single car garage with my mazda 6 wagon parked in there).  while i was waiting, i called the dealer to see what was the reason for the holdup - he said they were upgrading the 926DLE and that i would be happy.  well, stupid me didn't bother to ask what was being upgraded.  does anyone know what was changed?

I had a look at the Ariens site and the things that caught my eye WRT this year's 926DLE model is:

1. Tecumseh or Briggs and Stratton OHV engine;
2. Hand warmers;
3. Rremote differential lock-out; and
4. Remote chute deflector.

Since you probably ordered this year's model I'm guessing that it might be a change in engine since everything else is "standard" and wouldn't require any changing. The only other guess would be that  they are upgrading a unit from last year with some sort of retrofit kit.

Why not ask the dealer?

There is no way you can add the trigger lock as an upgrade as the frame and guts from last year will not accept the new feature.

Get an answer.

If you feel it is BS, then you have learned something ......so the next time you need service, you will already have eliminated a potential headache.
