Thanks for the Advice - Bought the Ariens 7524E
Original Message   Nov 14, 2005 8:20 pm
Have been reading the forum for several weeks now, and I think I have learned something from when I first started looking for Snowblowers. I bought the Ariens 7524E at Home Depot for $683 (759 - one of the many 10% off coupons available). Like everything I buy, I had a little buyer's remorse for not spending the extra $240 to buy the 9 HP model - it just looks SOOO much bigger and more powerful (but storage size was a factor). In addition, I went with the advice here to get an OHV engine so I went with the 7.5. Had the $999 one had an OHV it would have probably been the way to go. So, I struggled with the decision. Figure I will try it out for the season (we are in Minneapolis), with the great Ariens resale value I am sure I can always sell it at the end of the season with minimal loss. Considering local yard companies want $300-$350 a season to snowplow, it's a very low risk investment. Supposed to get 4-6 inches tomorrow, so won't have to wait long to see how it works. Thanks all!

Congrats on a nice purchase!
Wax her up, silicone the chute, remember to do the "break-in" readjustment after a short while......
Change out that "break in" oil after 5 hours of use and put in some good synthetic 5w-30 and you are set for a great time this winter!
