Need a new engine (Ariens)

I bought an old (~1970 had a H60 engine) Arien's snowblower from a neighbor a couple years ago and it threw a rod the end of last year. I took it all apart and decided that I replace the engine. But I accidentally threw away some parts that I needed (belt guard, engine sheave, belt, screws and belt fingers). Would it be worth it for me to try to replace all of these parts or should I just buy another used snowblower? I really don't want to spend more than $400. Thanks

There's a reason for more than one snowblower. Because. 1974 Ariens 824 SnoThro 197? Ariens ST270 SnoThro 1988 Ariens ST824 SnoThro 196? REO Snowblower 1960 Ariens SnoThro 1964 Ariens SnoThro

It sounds like you are mechanically inclined. I would wait for another used Ariens for small money, although this might not be the best time of year for deals on used snowblowers. Garandman bought a new engine for $260. You could probably find the parts you need from a local dealer used. Maybe even a used engine. Couldn't hurt to try. Good Luck
