Ariens ST926DLE for $999
Original Message   Aug 12, 2005 3:56 pm
Hi, A local dealer is selling new ST926DLE for $999. I need a new snowblower and would like to know what people think of this machine and if it is worth the price. I live in southern mass and last year we got slammed with snow. One storm dropped 36 inches.

Thanks

Matt

BUT the specs for the 2006 sound great. see, the discussion re: same. Is it a 2005 or a 2006?

You might offer  some details about what you are using it . The guys here will have you up to a "2148" in no time - just in case.

The fact is most folks buy a 7 or 8hp and it does their driveway, walkways etc in a reasonable amount of time. You can buy one that will do a quick job for most of the snowfalls, or you can buy one that will make quicker work of  major storms , drifts, and end of driveway piles. It will be heavier, more costly, take more room to store, and make you very popular with neighbors!

$999 is a really good price for that model. Folks are asking $800 to $850 for 1-2 year used 8hp Ariens .

You'll see from another thread that Ariens has made quite a few changes for this season, hence the question about year.

I'm in your neck of the woods and I'd recommend a minimum of an 8hp.. and a 9 is even better!

I think that's an awesome price. I'd jump on it if I needed one!

I went to the dealer today and he told me it was a misprint and the ad was wrong. The model without the locking differentials,  handwarmers, and with a l-head engine was $999. The delux model was $1500. I complained but he wouldn't budge on his price. So I didn't buy one. I will have to wait for a deal.

That's too bad.  The non differentials are a deluxe model.  Ariens sometimes throws in a cheaper model with a differential either in the deluxe line or the pro line.
