Advice on Lawn Mower
Original Message   May 20, 2005 11:45 pm
This site is awsome, never thought I would find a site like this, its very helpful.  I will be buying a Lawn Mower this weekend and wanted some advice,  I have a few models in mind.

First Choice:  Honda Harmony 2 series HRR216TDA

Second Choice: Toro Super Recycler 20055 or 20041

Third Choice: Craftsman (Sears) 37794 or 37709 or 37669

Now I was pretty sure I wanted a Honda engine but after reading your forums a bit I think I might stick to a Briggs and Stratton.  I now have a Craftsman 6.5hp B&S self prepelled that I have had for 10 years and have been very happy with.  Please any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you

Another vote for the Toro.  You'll love the Personal Pace.  The Honda is a quality machine that with proper care will last a long time.  My only concern is that if it should need repair, the parts, while available, are not as common as Briggs parts and tend to be pricey.  The Craftsman is also a decent machine, just not as good as the other two.

Some also like Snapper, and that Ariens/Gravely looked very nice in the pictures.

Other engines that have a good reputation are Kawasaki and Robin-Subaru.

I am gonna go Toro too! The Honda's are very quiet running but repars are big money! Evryone who owns a Toro is happy it seams! Not the same for Honda...

I'd recommend the Toro with the Briggs engine.  I'd also recommend any of the Ariens/Gravley lineup.

Ariens 926 DLE Professional; Toro S200; Craftsman LT1000, Echo ES-230;
