Ariens 926DLE chain tensioner follow-up Original Message Apr 27, 2005 11:29 am
The chain tensioner on my new snow thrower seemed as if it was screwed up last November - there was a major tight spot that prevented proper tensioning, so I left it loose over the winter. I thought that one of the sprockets was out of round.
I finished summerizing the machine last week and rechecked the tensioner. Now there is no tight spot. It fixed itself with about 3 hours of winter usage. I guess there was some welding flash or other debris on one of the gear teeth that worked its way out.
Now I don't have to hassle with taking it to the dealer for warranty work. That made me smile.
Great machine - too bad the winter was miserably dry.....
I have the same machine and haven't yet had that problem. Sorry to hear that you have, and I have learned from it. It was a dry winter, but I got some of my snowthrowing urges taken care of.
