thought I would share this- found a 50's/60's lawn-boy gas edger at a swap meet today. has white metal engine cover with light green handles ect.. blue rope pull handle, and few other things blue like screen under cover. surface rust but solid and complete. looks to be all original and very usable. not worth much I'm sure but I think for $12 I couldn't go wrong. I love the old iron and bringing life back into it. thanks for letting me share this. p.s. also got a 1hp sears compresser complete except belt gaurd for $40, was that fair?
Thanks on responses: yea, I think any ope for $12 running, or potential to run is a good deal. It runs except surges off and on. I,m sure a good carb clean in and out would help. amazing how light it is with that little 2-cycle lawnboy motor on it. will post pic's when ever I figure out what is missing to do so on wifes ditgital camera. to add to this find..I returned to swap meet today to try and talk a guy down on a 'david bradley' motor he had on a bench. well,..he was gone or atleast I never found him again. as I left swap meet I stoped at a garage sale. He had a 60's Simplicity 8hp/28in. snowblower. one with the 'water wheel' design for second auger. might get ahold of 'spectrum' on this..not sure, but I got it for $35! it runs perfect. all decals are in tact..even on shute. 1-10 scale it is a 7-8. anyhow..it was a good week-end for getting more projects ( just what I needed?) also got 13 buckets of sock-it pool shock (5# buckets) at 25cents / bucket.- they are usually around $20 each I believe. got to love those swap meets...Gene
