Session Change (no more timeouts)
#1   Mar 10, 2005 7:12 pm
A major change to the session system is currently being tested.

With it, users should no longer time out.

If you have your "Keep me logged in" box checked, this should have no effect on you. If you do not have this setting checked, there are now only two (not three) ways to log out: 1. hit the logout button, and 2. close (exit or quit) your browser.

Please report any problems anyone observes with this change, or voice your general feedback in this thread.

"My Account" page look funny to anyone??

On Windows XP, in FireFox, the "My Account" page suddenly is quite bad looking. Parts from the two columns overlap at various points.
Anybody else seeing this?
Re: Confusing #2

The reason is simple:

When you hit your back button, your browser is being instructed not to load the last page out of its cache. Actually, if all goes well, your browser should never have cached that page anyway.

Therefore, it literally reloads the page, which causes it to start at the top.

The reason for doing this is to make sure you are always looking at the most recent information. Disabling this could potentially mean that you are looking at an index of threads that is hours old. In such cases, people would complain how they're thread list is out of synch from time to time...

That's interesting that nobody caught that earlier. There was a typo that would mean this area NEVER had a Discussions or Reviews subsection.

Good catch! It's fixed now.

Added checkboxes to delete multiple private messages at once.
