Thursday July 14th, till Saturday the 16th the city of Revere MA. had a Sand Castle building contest at the beach, and here are the results....The winner got $10,000

This is the WINNER...

Columbus

Mermaid

Dragon

Jungle Scene

Tiger under leaf (Jungle Scene)

Sand Bar Lounge

Merlin

Dogs

Surfer

Not sure what this is...

Hope you liked them, this contest is held every year at Revere Beach.

There is a daily time limit for the three days...7:00am to 4:00pm to get as much done as possible.

Looks great.  I wonder what they mix with the sand to keep it together.  Tight security probably is scheduled also.

They trucked in truck loads of river bed sand from Hudson NH. which is a much heavier sand that they spritz with water. And yes they had State Police details 24 hrs. for a week.

There is something so neat about putting that much time and care into something that you know won't last....but doing it anyway.
