Installing air conditioner with new windows
Original Message Jun 10, 2005 7:24 pm |

I have a problem. We bought new Champion Windows. They only open 11+ inches and I need 12+ to put in an air conditioner. I called Champion and they told me to take out the stops which I did. After doing that my windows still opened the same amount due to a roller that is screwed in. I am trying to figure out how to create enough space. Any ideas?

Hi... Maybe call Champion again... ? Any way to "squeeze" the A/C's case to fit ? ...Maybe a new/shorter A/C ? Dave...

Is there a sill plate on the window bottom that can be removed to give you the space you need? It isn't possible to move the roller and inch is it?
