perhaps buy from the dealer...if you have an problem they may 'bump' their customers ahead of HD shoppers...should there be a wait.

Re: Toro Snow Blower single stage-buy 221E E/S or 221QE E/S? Or Ariens 2-stage?

here in PA those Toros are a little cheaper. Our HD also has SnoTek by Ariens. I think the 24" was $599. It looks the same except its all black, has a plastic shoot and chinese engine...no idea how it will hold up to the comparable Orange model. I have an older toro 3350 (I think) single stage. Is great int he snow but if I am getting a foot I try to get out every 6" or so.

Re: SNOWBLOWER Simplicity 522E or Honda HS520C

I only post because I have a 13 year old Simplicity. My only comments are regarding servicing. I have no doubt designs have changed but sevicing mine is a royal pain. You essentially have to remove the top cowl, back cowl, auger...almost dissasemble the whole thing just to get at the carb! It was always a surcharge when it went in for service and the guys in the back never looked real happy about it. My newer toro however is very simple to access everything. Like I said, design likely has changed but I'd ask the dealer on each model you are interested in: 'Hey if I want to drop the bowl, whats involved?'

I did find a manual it notes the position of the bowl could affect the float...I think I have it right though...will check. With the bowl off the float moved freely.

HD has Sno-Tek by Ariens...looks like the same 'orange' unit but painted black BUT with a chinese engine. 22" = $499. I think the 24" is $599.
